Know That I Too
We are never alone (a poem for mental health month)
Indepdence?

Indepdence?

A Poem by Samantha Koshiol
"

Does turning 18, really classify as becoming an adult in a city that chews them up and spits them out?

"
You look so lost in this city,
Walking this street all alone
Grown men even transport in large numbers
Soccer moms only cart bulletproof Hummers.

You have no idea,
The hell you walk among.
18 years young,
The system declared you an adult,
So it's really not your fault.
Mis-guided safety,
It's their job
But their the ones you should be blaming.

How much do you know about the justice system?
Enough to be acquitted,
for self defense of free living?
They explain it as help they're giving,
Yet I meet few families
that want to have more children.
