True Love

True Love

A Poem by Beaudyn
"

My first attempt at poetry... circa... age 13 or so

"

True love comes but once in a lifetime.
The warmest eyes, the sweetest touch.
The one that wants to share your life forever.
You see this One, as he sees you.
No difference.
A friend to stride with for all eternity.
No matter what race or gender,
No prejudice resides.
Do you think that’s irony?
You’re wrong.
That’s love.

Love may seem to fall but one time. But we can be surprised with age and wisdom to re-open the heart to the real emotion of love after trial and error of youth. Your poem is beautiful. I like the description and the ending. A excellent poem.
