A Forever River

A Forever River

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

A Forever River

The rhythms of our energies

condensed and aligned,

like the River Seine

With two ships floating by.

Steer in, steer away

Storms come

Ride the waves,

come what may.

Your ship went on a different route today,

you crossed the plane-

-right past the bay.

As I look over at where you once were,

and feel the pain, the surge,

I remember that we’re on a forever river

and our energies, will once again

merge.

The last stanza is hopeful. Sometimes sequels do occur.

I like this poem a lot! Some relationships are just like that!
