The Next Ice Age

A brief poem about the speed of life and the simple things that are sometimes forgotten.

The pace of life is propelling people into supersonic speed

Foregone are the days of mellowness

 

The replacement: speed, power, and drive,

Which has fueled this ambitious mainstream lifestyle

 

Families rush through daily meals

Text messages have replaced verbal conversations

 

The words-

Let me get that for you

Now have been superseded by-

Let me through

 

The world is turning bitter

For the hearts of society are starting to freeze

The next generation…

May encounter a new ice age
