Admitting Defeat

Admitting Defeat

A Poem by Lauren Amber

Long lost is my determination.

Nonextistant is my inspiration.

Dreams are crushed by aggrivation.

Of my mind, I cannot find,

The strength to keep myself collected.

The time to give my nerves a rest.

The heart to do whats really best.

For my mentality; to salvage my sanity.

Unbeknowst to me is what day of the week,

Is the one that is bright, alright or bleak.

I switch moods like water flowing through a creek.

That ends up in an ocean, a multitude of emotion.

Is there medication for this pain?

Am I crazy, depressed or sane?

Or is it merely willpower to change the way,

That my brain reacts to situations every day?

If you defeat can yield poems like this then maybe it's worth it. hopelessness blended with the words yet so beautiful to the eyes. that's amazing.
