It gets easier...

It gets easier...

A Poem by Lauren Amber

We fear what we know, and what we've lost.
In a journey for respect to be discovered, we have lost all of our players to the opposing team
And whereas gracious attitudes should be lined up waiting
We have nothing but bitter coldness sweeping the lines
A brown leaf speckled with red who still has some flavor of life
Spirals down to the floor with the masses, disheveled like a book on a dusty shelf

who has an unreadable title
A wave crashes on the rocks, leaving droplets of salty water behind

to compensate for tears uncried.

And we shall wait until the morning comes.

I didn't write for some time, and it feels wonderful to start again. It is one of the purest forms of therapy I know. I am in my early twenties, residing in Queens with my boyfriend and our pit bull.. more..
