(no longer) His Victim

(no longer) His Victim

A Poem by Nina Love

Do not mistake me for

An easy prey,

Nor for the girl,

Helpless and afraid.

I’ve learned long ago

To never play the helpless maid.

I will never again

Be the victim because

I’ve learned to play the game.

And I Play It Well.

You’ll never again

Revel in my pain,

And you’ll never again

Make my blood fall like rain.

Because...

Remember, remember

That eighth of november?

The day you tortured me,

Mercilessly, without pause?

Call in...

Memory of

The scars you left,

Crawling my skin.

Each a signature

For your death wish.

Each a reason to commit

A no longer unforgivable sin.

Each a reason

To reclaim my sanity.

Each a reason

To avenge the life

You stole from me.

As I now

Steal from you.

So who's the victim now?

A great depth of feeling fills your writing, and it has a smooth flow. I like it.
