Innocence and the devil's daughter

Innocence and the devil's daughter

A Poem by Nina Love

Daniella.

so young

so sweet, so innocent

it cannot be,

we cannot be.

too tainted am I,

to even hold her hand.

too sweetly serenly unaware

of life's hardships is this woman,

this Girl.

I cannot...

bring myself to sully that

innocence,

I am too far gone

but not far enough to

take and break this beautiful purity

that takes residence in her soul.

so I study her from afar,

her laughter,

her languege,

her smile...

Her smile...

it melts me and i think

I must be insane as I

lean forward and press my lips

against her own

and find

no disgust,

no remorse,

nothing but her hand

now in mine,

her lips trailing to kiss away

the tears that have fallen on my face.

I kissed her,

and now i must walk away

for I could never hurt her

like I surely must

if I stay.

for love between this innocent and I,

I, who am the darkest creature

born from the loins of satan,

surely is a forbidden sin.
