I'm So Afraid

I'm So Afraid

A Poem by Nina Love

I'm so afraid

Today I got the news

He's back in surgery.

Again and again,

I wait for the call

I wait for my world to stop,

To fall apart.

Alexanderous...

His name is the fire that

Fuels my words,

My life.

He is my best friend,

My confidant,

The love of my life,

And my hero,

So how can God or Goddess

Seek to take him away

When they have already taken

So many others from me?

I'm so afraid

That I will never see his face again,

Never hear his laughter,

Never feel his arms around me...

I wouldn't want to live.

Alexanderous...

Is the only reason I still survive,

The only reason these past four years

Have not broken me down.

He is my lifeline,

And I pray that it will not break.

Im so afraid

That the call will come

And I will be left to

Wander this earth alone again.

I'm so afraid,

Alex, please don't leave.

The emotion is very thick, raw and real. But it doesn't read like a poem to me. Seems more like a rant out of a journal. If you wish to turn it into more of a "poem" then I wish you luck. If this is a true story I hope everything turns out alright.
