I'm Fine.

I'm Fine.

A Poem by Nina Love

Taking the bruises from my heart,

I slash them into my skin.

I carve the words into my skin again

Even though I know this will only make

Everything so much worse.

Blade in hand,

Biting into tender skin,

I write I'm Fine,

And let the process begin.

I start shaking as ice steals through my veins

And my body goes numb,

Just like all those times before.

Blood trickles down my arm,

Splashing on the white-tiled floor.

I know I should stop,

I should, if only for you, my love,

But it's another addiction,

Another high,

Once the blade kisses your skin,

You Cannot Stop.

I'm sorry love,

For all the pain this causes you,

But you have to believe me when I say

I'm Fine.
