Atrum Umbra

Atrum Umbra

A Poem by Dante Hieroden
"

What if some unseen puppet master was behind it all? Ultimately not that person but something sinister and dark controlling it all for sport.

"

Atrum Umbra

I spent a quarter to see you smile.

I laid it to rest.

The dandelions floated on the wind.

You serve someone I don’t know.

You put roses at his feet.

In the shadows you glimmer.

Like an obtuse diamond.

Flashes of violet darkness.

Snapping twigs underneath.

They all bend their backs to you.

Slaves each and every one.

Jiggling chains bring a harmonious beat.

There is both a major and a minor key.

The grass is withered and it died.

 I just wanna stay alive.

The open sky is so high.

The circle has been cast.

I bent my knee to you once.

There is so many rainbows.

Admit the deluge I screamed.

No matter what mask you wear...

I know what you are, you demon.

Papers will be flying on the wind.

Under the ground, boils start.

I live on the other side now.

A sacred place within the light.

Winters night will not save you.

As you summon your pets,

I look above and smile.

I pay no more penance to you.

For a long while I was clouded, dark.

With your clever mirrors and smoke.

You created illusions from thin air.

Using people and things and thoughts.

You shall not pass.

No more does my candle light your fire.

You think you know true power?

In the haze your chokes will begin.

The light stronger than me.

Go ahead take a step forward.

Why do you hide behind your pawns?

Masquerade as an angel?

Pretend your inviting, loving even?

You are NOT redeemable.

In the eyes of the light I see you.

Your everything bad, evil and murderous.

Your jaunty expression cannot save you.

Gleeful golden fake wings.

Stay away from me. Far away.

Were I caged before I think now.

Marble halls resonate with thunder.

In the dawn I stand aside.

As the sunlight burns you.

It sends you back to hell.
