Wildflowers

Wildflowers

A Poem by songbirdwriting

Wildflowers are growing down my back,
in and out through the bones in my spine

they remind me
to keep my head up
my back straight

they keep me from
curling up on the ground,
from breaking the stems

because who would want
to make such a mess
of such beauty,

such untainted heart-born life?

yes, these wildflowers are alive
and I with them

The really struggle with coming up with a good title for this - 'Wildflowers' is too plain, but it's temporary until I find the right title. Do let me know if you've got any good ideas for this!

Wildflower is a good title. The wildflower had so many meanings.
"yes, these wildflowers are alive
and I with them "
To be and know the dance of the wildflower. Would be a wonderful place to know. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

I did and you are welcome.
I actually preferred the wildflowers visual. It was a juxtaposition against hard bones visual and softness of a wildflower floral motif.
