I may have been here

I may have been here

A Poem by Wanderess

I was here
Perfectly hidden in plain sight
Camouflaged in a sea of familiar faces

I was here
Right in front of you
But you chose not to see

I was here
I still am
And will always be

I exist
In between the lines
You have refused to read

I exist
In the whispers of the truth
You'll never choose to believe

I exist
At the end of the path
You chose not to take

I exist
In the reality of the choices
You didn't want to make

I have drowned
Underneath the flood of tears
I have cried

I have died
A thousand times
But I chose to live again

I have hid
Squeezed myself
Into the empty spaces
Of my broken heart

I have hid
Locked myself
In the memories
We didn't make

I have
Lost myself
In the rules
We didn't break
