Hollow Comets

Hollow Comets

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

Dreams never to come true~

"

Chasing starlight further from

brightening horizons is performed

by an exasperated melancholic;

looking not towards approaching

dawn, but rather at retreating

moonlight: potential glimmering

with the faintest of twinkles

dancing in eventide: hundreds of

wishes never to come true

held within hollow comets.

{Little did he know that the sparkles

blinking azure originate not from

optimistic souls, but from pentagrams

concealed by devils’ eyelids}

Wow twisted poem, seeing the darkness where everyone sees hope. Great write.

Very eloquently worded. I wasn't quite sure about the formatting to the second stanza; was it actually part of the poem or simply an addition on your part.

I'm going to treat it like part of the poem, and say it was a wonderful ending. Great manipulation of the scene and of the reader's mental imagery.

ooohh. i like this. very deep and dark. i like how you portrayed beauty in the first stanza then quickly retracted to darkness. i like the contrast here. :)
