Reflections

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

Only to be led straight to the grave.

"

Unsolved prayers lie behind those stitched lips

slivers of despair twinkle in your bloodshot eyes

have you no knowledge where polluted blood drips

staining forth a scarlet path to your demise?

Once had a goddess served as your deity transcending

but you were forsaken once a crimson teardrop wept out your wrists

left with sorrow while your goddess left you descending

and from that point on you had burned your crucifix

Hesitantly you placed wishes upon the stars

and glanced hopefully towards hazy skies

realizing too late you had stretched yourself too far

and slowly watched the constellations die

Have you not anticipated your fall

for I take pleasure in watching your little world of pain

yet despite my plastered smiles and underneath it all

I realized that you and I were one and the same

I've no pride in this one; I kindly as for as much criticism as possible. Preferably harsh, being that I need way too many improvements to be done in this one.

Gruesome, eerie, but clever. I like it.

Sorry Tai but I really like it. It'sit's stamped with your trademark violent metaphorical imagery that make your work "Tai poems" and that's a beautiful thing
