I Love You

I Love You

A Poem by Lamha K.

I used to think words said mean something,
That the person saying them felt something.
But then I met you.
And knew I was so askew.

I was so naive,
Fell for the lies you'd weave.
I let my guard down with you.
Felt safe while talking to you.

You gave me happiness I never knew,
Made me feel things I never knew,
In my sadness, I'd look for you,
Your happiness, was mine too.

Never knew what love is,
But for you I thought I felt it.
You said that I love you,
I said I love you too.

I showed you my demons,
Built through all my screamin'.
But you turned out to be,
The darkest of em all.

You were supposed to be my clarity.
You were meant to be my remedy .
But you are my tragedy.
Your love, a tragicomedy.

Your lies I will never forget.
Your deceit I will forever regret.
You said I love you.
And I believed you too.
