Give Your Dreams A Shot

Give Your Dreams A Shot

A Poem by Lana

Give your dreams a shot
Pour yourself some liquid courage
And tumble down drunk
On the red carpet stairs of Cannes

Give it a shot
And raise your glass
To failures and the collapse
Of a dream unlived
But to a courage unmatched
Allowing the foundation of your house
To stay intact

And for that you are worth a thousand shots
Poured by your gut
Until you get so drunk
You start to see flashes

The camera's long wide shots
Of you looking up to the sky
Was published on The New York Times
The headline read
"If only you knew
You were made of the same star dust
And the gleaming stars in the heavens
Are flashing for you to raise your glass"

To the dreams unlived
And the realities the future You will catch
If only you just
Give your dreams a shot
