It is us

It is us

A Poem by Lana

The things that makes me want to give up
Are the things that were made up
The nature of life has never fought against us
It has always tried to embrace us
But we are just a crowd of businessmen
Walking towards a lonely road of games
The casinos are always open
24/7 service
We accept cash and credit card
But if you dare to come as you are
As a thief that doesn't respect law
We don't embrace jaws
Who bite into anything they want
We embrace the ones who dress nicely
Who have studied in the most prosperous settings
And who steal at night with no witnesses
Except other thieves dressed as the police
We hate life as it is
We love to make up things
And then those of us
Who appreciate the cold
And the sound of the rain in winter
The pink cotton candy clouds in summer
Or the sound of laughter
We have to give up
We just want to give up
But it's not life's fault
It is us
