Snarling Lions Closing In

Snarling Lions Closing In

A Poem by Jovilious

Large figures closing in
taunting and snarling
like predators to prey
but you can't run
because they're surrounding
and though you havent yet comprehended
what upperclass juniors would want
from a quiet kid like you
but maybe your silence
is what made them think
or your weak demeanor
they would get away with it
so you tried to run
though it was pointless
they grab you easily
and one of the softer looking lions
whispers in your ear as he holds you down
to just try and block it all out
 maybe they were right
about the silence
you didn't say anything
who would listen anyway?
