In Love

Forever.. and a Day

In love, I find laughter, joy, purity, passion and balance

One simple moment, normally overlooked, is suddenly memorized in vivid detail

I touch his face, not wanting to forget it, loving every curvature, the softness, the gentleness when he looks at me

I linger with my lips against his neck, drinking him in like my favorite wine, his scent filling me; his scent mingled with mine, totally intoxicating.

I stare into his eyes, wanting desperately to say so much, hoping he'll simply read it in my gaze since my words fail me when my heart is pounding so loudly and happiness has left me speechless

He runs his fingers down my back and I feel more alive than ever before, like I've been reborn into a life I always wanted but never felt I deserved

He smiles, softly, enigmatically, his eyes glittering in candlelight, sparkling brilliantly with what I hope is his addiction and mesmerizing commitment to me that might echo my adoration of him.

Then he kisses me, slowly at first, then hungrily and passionately and I become lost.  Lost to him.  Lost to us.  Lost in this moment, and I feverishly try to memorize every second, every touch, imprint it across my soul like a brand or one of those sexy tattoos everyone comments on.

When morning comes, I wake up saddened. Where is he?  Even the dreams, fresh and still alive in my wakening mind, are poor excuses for his warmth against me. 

Someday, love will not only be my momentary salvation, it will be my reality and my forever joy.  The days will become weeks… will become months… will become years… will become eternity.
