Staring intently

Staring intently

A Poem by lapoesieducoeur

I glance at you, staring intently at me,
the disappointment warps your face
I crumble, as I see what you see.

The scars, some old, some new,
the blood stained canvas that is my arm
you whisper gently in my ear..

The calm gentle words echo in my head
the voice that promises to stay, not judge
the resounding, resolute and reassuring “why?”

Only then do I truly crumple
you pick me up and dust me off
and help me walk the path..

The path with many forks
shrouded in fog and deep despair
you are my light, my anchor, my earth to this life.

I am an anonymous poet, writing my poetry as a means of dealing with the monsters in my head. Yes I have suffered and still am, but with my writings I might just get better. more..
