Should You Take me nowA Poem by Ms. Alarice C. BanasihanIn a very struggling moment of life there is always a choice that we need to take to surviveShould You Take me now By: Ms. Alarice C. Banasihan Teacher III Bayog ES, SDO LAGUNA Philippines When the sun starts to shine and the birds chirp loudly, As a seed from the ground shove its comfort from the land, Its sprout long for the rain to at least pass by… And the sensation of dryness, its thirst be gone. Another day may be done and the sprout slowly comes to life… Its leaves stretching, as if reaching the sky from a far. And so, the sprout now buds, of green and yellow and plum. Once again, waited for the rain, its thirst be gone… Passers-by adore the wonders of beauty the flower at sight, As its color radiates under the clear smiling sky… But Alas, the weeds starts to suffocate its roots, The sun rays cause to wither the land, weakness embrace! When nothing can be done to avert it from fading, It is maybe better to take this flower off its stem, While the colors still dazzling and glowing… Than to wait for the colors to soon fade, a dreadful faith. Maybe before its glory will be taken away… By drought, oh the intense heat of the ground… Should you pick it and adore its color… Should you take it now, while it is still young. While the greens and reds still radiant, While it’s fragrant announces freshness, Take it now, Take it quickly now… Before its beauty escapes and fade… © 2021 Ms. Alarice C. BanasihanAuthor's Note
