AGE

As I get older I do a lot of reflecting back. This is another quick look.

I remember times when I was young,

            I looked around to see,

All the people standing by,

            That looked so old to me.

 

Age is mostly perception from,

            Just your point of view.

Others may not see the same,

            In people that you do.

 

Time has passed and things have changed,

            And when I look around to see,

All the people who now look old,

            Just look a lot like me.

I personally, enjoy the feeling of seeing futures of people i knew, see them grow up, watch their new bodies and faces and jobs and things. all the intricacies of their life now in full motion and not going to stop anytime soon, sadly i notice their faces changed,m but i remember, but my face changed, and i was not so lucky to have people remember me as well, so i feel like a silent watcher, observing life as it grows, and in a way, i find peace in that.
Your flow in your poetry is amazing, it just feels right and it sounds like music on my mind, i love your work.

I always admire those who can rhyme well...it is a struggle for me and I usually drop the ball halfway through! This is a great glimpse into aging and you do it with wit and charm. Sometimes it seems we only realize our own aging by looking at our contemporaries, or at how much our children have grown.

I love the natural flow that you have. I tend to think about what life would be like when I get older but I don't really know what awaits me hopefully family and faithful friends. :)
