blindfolded

blindfolded

A Poem by layne

I face this world blind folded,

I face death with arms unfolded,

With my head held high,

My eyes open wide as i cry,

This fate i face is truly unruly,

But this fate i face is only the beginning,

So i face this world blindfolded,

With no end in sight i cry,

Nothing but a desolate playground,

Nothing but a worthless life i've been living,

I brave the storm yet to come cause by the end of it my time is up,

This life i live is full of lies and masks,

I bare my face and show my wounds with a smile and tears in my eyes,

So i face death with arms unfolded,

My heart at the ready for the worst,

I expect her to come and sing me the wails of the damned,

As i'm carted down the river with nothing but my memories,

Death will come soon enough,

And when that time comes don't bother looking for me,

I've been lost for years,

Yet to be found,

My eyes wide behind this blindfold,

Tears stain my cheeks,

Arms at the side while i brave this storm without any regrets,

Can you accept death with open arms?

Blindfolded with eyes wide,

Arms at the side,

Heart on the outside,

Memories at the ready,

We set off on our journey through the river,

With no destination in site.
