Chani's Song

Chani's Song

A Poem by Leah Elisabeth
"

I wrote this for my niece when she was born.

"

Rest your head now child.
Close your eyes and dream.
Fall asleep, safe in my arms.
I will keep you safe from all harm.

Storms will come
and the dark will scare you.
I will hold you,
in the night I'll protect you.

Someday you'll walk away.
You'll forget the one who held you.
You might even fall apart
trying to pull yourself together.

I pray, someday,
as you look for somewhere to turn,
you'll put your hand in your Saviour's
and in His arms, you'll fall asleep.

Rest your head now child.
Close your eyes and dream.
Fall asleep, safe in His arms.
He will keep you safe from all harm.

About
I am a young woman who keenly enjoys the beauty of a well-turned phrase. I believe that life without the spoken or the written word would be very empty indeed. My life is filled with song and story .. more..
