Slur

Slur

A Poem by sunflowerpalette

To the boy I once thought I love before:

Maybe it wasn’t your eyes

Maybe it was all those lies

When we thought we could defy

Oh no, we’re not

I’m glad I changed my mind

I was full of misery

Thinking about our own fantasies

Been craving ‘bout a quest

I swear my heart couldn’t quite rest

We both know the truth

And from the start we’ve been fooled

I’m sorry ‘bout tempting you that summer

I’m sorry ‘bout our improper name calling

I’m so sorry that I needed to end this

We both know,

We both know this wouldn’t last anyway

For the mean time, we need a time away

Away from each other, away from the fibs

This time, please don’t let my eyes blur

Please do understand that this is for our own sake

I wouldn’t take the chance

Of everyone knowing our own rapport
