I Am My Own Person

The theme of this poem is to show the essence of a complicated relationship between a child and a parent. This is for school, give me some feedback on stuff in the poem I can improve in!

Your brain is my brain 

My grades are your reputation

But my life is your life

Your expectations are sky-high but 

Even you can’t reach it

You project onto me as if I’m not my own person

You pour your feelings into me 

You cry and cry when I say I don’t like it as if

I’m not my own person

Maybe, I’m not my own person but

I have feelings 

I have a brain 

I have a heart

I even have friends

And I have eyes that twinkle like a child

That you abandoned

It seems you’ve forgotten so

I’ll say this once again

I have feelings

I have my own brain 

I have a heart

I even have friends

And I have my own life

Not yours

Give me some ways to mention how even though the child is so drained, they still love their parent, because I'm having some trouble on that ;[
