Time

Time

A Poem by Alexis
"

Time can change a person

"
She told everyone,
I'm just cold,
When she walked back
Out with her hoodie on.

But she
Was tired of turning around,
And having to look at herself.

And they all
Believed her lie,
Because they saw she was happy
When she wasn't.

They saw that
She was smiling bright,
But she was just hiding her feelings.

They tell her to take off that hoodie
When she gets to school.
What embarrassment she would have
If they saw her scars.

They tell her,
It's too hot
To be wearing a hoodie.
But only if she felt better
She would be able to take it off.

Relax and get comfortable.
Her friends laugh at her
For still standing and in that hoodie.
If only they knew the real her,
She tells herself,
As she cries to sleep that night.
