Before the Mirror

Before the Mirror

A Poem by leximariewright
"

I wrote this in one of my most depressive states. Take from it what you will.

"
There's a girl in the mirror.

Mama can't see her because
Mama thinks she beautiful.

She has a beautiful conscience
but is not conscious of her beauty.
       she looks sad

There's a girl crying in the mirror
but she's standing
      before the mirror

Her tears are your tears
you realize.
Her sadness extends
    through the glass.

She smiles
   she tries to smile,
just more tears

In a dream she had,
   the mirror breaks
she likes what she sees

Shattered,
   she picks up the pieces
the glass is too sharp

A pretty face in the shards
put back together the wrong way
   turns sad

She bleeds a little
The glass is shiny
 she likes what she sees

Mirror mirror on the floor,
more broken now than ever before.
The glass is cutting
     she likes what she feels

Mirror mirror in her veins,
course through her body, release the pain

Not so dark but just the right amount of emotions which has made my coffee for the day strong. I have wrote two poems on mirror ..mainly the same concept. I had always wanted to shatter the glass but i never did it. Well this one you did the shattering job well. I must say the state of mind which i was in before i read it was depressed. Reading your writing made my day. Sometimes self imposed
Solitude is good.i think there are no flaws to point out here. Pretty much good
Love and wishes.:)
