A World Without Lightning

A World Without Lightning

A Poem by Laura

I once compared us to a storm

A storm that strikes throughout the life of a tree

weakening it's branches

always leaving a touch of regret

from summers passed

the leaves no longer drift and swim with the wind

they lay cold and frozen

coveted by a canvas of white

Yet I would rather survive that storm

And I would rather endure the icy fear of that winter

Than to ever know a world without lightning

I liked how you used Lightning as a metaphor for love. Nice work.

Sure-- to soar to great heights, one must be willing to fall great distances. A nice poem, Laura.

Awesome, I would have to say that this is my favorite of the three.
Nice imagery and it flowed nicely
