your eyes

your eyes

A Poem by mick weller

In your eyes
I saw everything
that I ever wanted to be

In your eyes
I saw all that I ever needed to be

but then your eyes turned from me ...
and when your eyes closed to me

my heart ...
closed too

Again, you have thoroughly bundled it all up with an economy of words that is remarkable. Beautifully done. Where have you been hiding?

How have I never read this?

I wonder that someone with your understanding found yourself so deeply in someone else's eyes.

But what deep sorrow and loss you make me feel.

This is beautiful, no need to feel hesitant about posting! :) I love the symbolism of the eyes closing to represent this person leaving you. Very nice write!

This seems like such a sad write, and to me it appears to be about when ones lover, sadly takes another.
