Rest

Rest

A Poem by ~~Lauren~~

Amid a fast paced, no-stopping, ever-fading world,
I sat in a tree upon a hill.
I watched as the children raced from their schools,
Rushing to get to their warm and cozy homes
Where though they needed it, rest was fought.
I noticed how alike we all are to the children;
We go through life rushing and rushing
And eventually when it is almost time to go home
We fight that final rest.
Then I climbed down from my tree,
with its ever-spreading branches as my ladder,
and went home.

Very beautiful. I was imagining how it felt to see the world from a tree upon a hill and contemplating it...:)
