Petals of a Sphere

Petals of a Sphere

A Poem by Shannon
"

"

Petal by petal, forming a sphere,

Just as complex as you appear.

Radiant reds swirl with a powdery pink,

A glimmering gold adds more than you think.

Shining, glowing, emitting light,

For creatures all around, truly a sight.

The perfect pearl of beauty lies

Atop a fine stem, clear to all eyes.

Stay forever, this little gift,

Before foul winds sweep you adrift.

Pros: Great rhyme scheme, gives it a flowy feel that keeps it moving. Also, great imagery! I could almost see a rose blooming in front of me, each petal that gorgeous red you mention with a dash of pink.

Cons: None

Overall: Great poem describing the beauty of something so simple.
