Speeds of then

Speeds of then

A Poem by Donald Meikle

to sing a song of yesterday

and then the day before

you need to taste a memory

of then and sip some more

To sit beside this trickling stream

forgetting all and  rhyming true

To spill a drop or two today

To they who used their words to play

To drink of time without a care

Of when or then or there in past

To realize it does not last

lost in words that sped so fast

they swirled and twirled

through broken glass

The Looking Glass where I looked and there at the bottom an old friend winked back at me.

Really enjoyed this. It's both wonderfully reflective and a reminder that on occasion we need to press the pause button, on what for so many has become a bewilderingly fast paced world.

Beccy.

I agree. The message relates with everyone in their life.
