Women's Lib

A Poem by Donald Meikle

So you really think its better now
Free to learn and earn
What was missed in all the scuffle
Can you really count the cost
Seems to me that all I worked for
Way back in the day is lost
Coz it really wasnt money
That made me work so much
T was a house and spouse and children
But t day Im out o touch
Coz it really doesnt matter
Who earns the right t pay
The Nanny and the granny
Who raise the kids t day
Double earning raised the bar so high
Theres just no other way
