Almost there

Almost there

A Poem by Donald Meikle

leaves sparkle in late afternoon sun
roiling clouds linger in frustration
as trees wave in mild breeze
The street is dry and clean from earlier rain
That hot sullen air is now cool and moving
Sunset is iffy as cumulo nimbae strut and glare
Tall watery columns of grandeur totally unaware
Of chocolate cake about to bake
and wine glasses about to be filled
Lawns too wet for mowing burst and bloom with life.
As taste buds spurt in sweet anticipation.

With you I can go through seasons, just by reading you. I can go trough my day, just by listening to the music of your words. I thought -.
leaves sparkle in late afternoon sun ----------this I thought was merriment expressed by a brightness and gleam of light of countenance the momentum your eye's prisma, refracting surfaces at an acute angle with each other; then.... the description of nature after the rain was dreamy and poetically perfect.
