Seasoned Thoughts

Seasoned Thoughts

A Poem by Donald Meikle

To lose one's attention in the spell of a multi- hued water lily.
Ignoring caresses from ever patient Breeze
As memories of Winter's grasping clutch in early Spring
Return on this late Summer's day to tease
And yet the instant intense beauty of the flower
Reminds one of the coming painted Fall
With the Impressionistic pixel count of leaves
To savor and to wander in with ease
Ignoring still caresses from ever patient Breeze

Your meter is masterful in this wonderful verse. I can see the lilies in bloom. A koi pond perhaps, or maybe just a small pond where the local boys cast a line or two. At any rate, it is warmer here as winter cold becomes a memory.

I am taken with your verse. Such wonderful work. ~Pamela

This is so pictoresque! such a poetry forces me to introspect into our being and better understand ourselves as individuals in the broader spectrum of events of the world in nature.
