Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

an oldie dredged up

"
To wondrous ways of tell
In words of double meaning
The tilt of sliding hell
That sets my heart to keening
Finding words to fit the pace
a walking trot or flat out race
To put the reader in a place
That's strange and yet familiar
then turn a phrase to lead him on
In ever growing eager
Tis then I'll know that I've gone on
To be a major leaguer

The worlds of double meaning... and how we like to use them, always... It is always about "who is looking, and what for?", isn't it?
I like your interchanging thoughts, poet's sentiments and man's feelings.

Batter up!

:)

I like this. An interesting way to tell the tale.
