About Love and Hate

Mommy: I hated myself for have been born.

Daddy: I hated myself for being a girl.

Little Brother: I hated myself for not have killed you.

Country: I hated myself for being catholic.

School: I hated myself for being smart.

Long-haired boy: I hated myself for loving you, I hated you for loving me.

Earth: I hated myself for eating corpses.

Friends: I hated myself for being successful.

Family: I hated myself for running away.

Doggy: I hated myself for leaving you.

City: I hated myself for being scared.

 

Mommy: I love you for bringing me to life.

Daddy: I love you for making me a warrior.

Little Brother: I love you for teaching me the value of friendship.

Country: I love you for making me a rebel.

School: I love you for making me disciplined.

Long-haired boy: I love you for having supported me, I love you for leaving me.

Earth: I love you for teaching me about respect.

Friends: I love you for celebrating my battles won.

Family: I love you for giving me wings.

Doggy I love you for being loyal.

City: I love you for making me brave.

 

I used to hate myself for loving myself.

I love myself!

Hello Lina Florez,

I like how you turned the negatives into positives and ending it with acceptance of one self. That is beautiful.

Your grammar is fine. The only thing I saw that needed your attention was the first line in the second stanza: "Mommy: I love you for bring me to life" It should read: Mommy: I love you for bringing me to life. The only other thing may be to add punctuation to the end of each sentence but I don't know if that is 100% necessary but as your comments referenced grammar, this probably should be addressed.

Other than those minor details, your poem it good. As I said above, I really enjoyed how you made the hate statements and then followed them up by loving statements before ending your poem with self acceptance. Nicely done!

the line "i used to hate myself for loving myself" is way captivating... so eye-catching so far. kinda like ur work. it's creative 2 see how smoothly u wave 'pon along with words. the analogies of hate & love be very nicely depicted in ur poetry. extraordinary work here!
