![]() The SnakeA Poem by Lindsey RobinsonYou reached into my chest and grabbed my heart. You squeezed it tighter and tighter and didn't let go. The grip you had brought me joy and happiness. I loved you because of it. I loved you through everything, Late night calls which led to fights and Nights spent in tears after being given the wrong feeling. But when your grip on my heart tightened, I was in pain. You spread through my veins and Eventually you reached my brain. You were my mind, heart and soul. I was there for you through sadness, death, happiness and pride. Until one day you decided I wasn't enough. She had more of herself to offer to you to wrap around and intertwine with And eventually break, like me. So you squeezed my mind and body as tight as you could and turned me to bits. You ripped my heart from my body and left me alone, empty and to pick up every piece of myself that you broke. I'm sorry I wasn't enough. But was smashing me like a china doll really worth the trouble? © 2016 Lindsey RobinsonFeatured Review
