The depth of self love

The depth of self love

A Poem by LisaButterfly

As I loved deeply my heart was broken more and more
I embrace that brokenness as it was a cure for my soul
The brokenness gave birth to an abundance fruit
That I belong
But not to you but to me
And to Him
That neglect is now a distant friend
Still nesting in chambers of my heart
I can sense it around
But the fruits of brokenness have given me new branches
Where birds can come and nest
As the branches will continue to grow
Neglect is now a distant friend
And I walk through forests of green
Lush scents
Where I look up and can see the light shine through the shadows in those trees I once knew
I found myself in you
