Don't Be Critical

Don't Be Critical

A Story by Davidgeo
"

"that's trolling!" The self esteem movement will be how the meek inherit the earth... (FYI - religion is a superstition, those books are all lies)

"

Some ego's can't handle anything but praise from a chorus in an echo chamber.

"Don't be critical" some say, "never be critical" - That's trolling.  We all must glad hand each other, they would say, the truth is not kind enough, they would say. I say that only cowards live behind thick veils of faux politeness.  This entire movement of plastic self esteem breeds the darker reactions.  As cowards continue to ignore their lie behind that idiot veil of politeness, balance is sought from the other, then the cowards combine in a seemingly contradictory rage and hate chorus.... and the cycle continues.

Isn't the self esteem movement grand?  Lying politely, you all must be saints (or narcissists looking for your own praise chorus).

Pretending a life, like a child - like a coward.  I may not have a praise chorus or a fan club, but at least I'm not some grown up baby of a pandering d********g.

Now that, baby Dick, was trolling....   you should know it well, it's similar to pandering.  The real difference is the motivations behind it all - one is to see or expose a naked truth, the other is for...eh, lets just say they are for the much more self serving kinds of motivations.

(it's very difficult to be rationally difficult)

It is true that the self-esteem movement has caused a lot of grief for people who have to face the world with a sense of confidence they have yet to earn. Criticism is a part of life and it is needed in order to improve oneself, but criticism can be given in a constructive manner which I'd consider kind and not necessarily a fake politeness. There is a way to balance both.

It's either ironic or simply lazy that I'm not giving any criticism. I just wanted to upvote it cause I most certainly agree. We should improve in any way possible isolation from criticism is fatal. I do love when people say I dislike something because I'm a troll or because it has X , X usually being a female cast or a black character.

Thank you. I've never had a fan before. Well, not anyone that would admit it openly anyway.
Seems okay... except for one thing.

It looks more like a short story instead of a poem.

Just saying, of course.
