Running's Risk

learning to disconnect truly
from all the things that make one human

out of survival, from brutality
   given or taken
or the like. . .

   if you do this truly

   you may never come back
you may never reconnect
all that you once were

things will remain lost
   distorted;
and you now become a different person

one who forgot that nothing ever truly severed
                - no matter how it is done -
      is ever guaranteed to come back

always running the risk of not recognizing the self
             after that   now    like this
(and completely oblivious to it)
  in a ball of irrational frustration ...
            welcome to ptsd
        and other futile things
