Producer Laugh

An actor once told me about something peculiar 

The “fake producer laugh”, he did call it

He went on and on and said that I too knew it

Compared it to all the fake facebook comments

Pandering website reviews,"Your comment's so funny!"

"what an adorable baby!", "my dear you're so pretty!" 

he called it, "The reciprocity of polite remarks"

He said that almost no one ever really means it. . .

Everyone now exists in a fantasy world of a sort

And even though I know, that for a living, he does lie

I believed him

Because he’s good at his job

But he f****n' sucks at real life

I do see a lot of this on talk shows and such. The guest makes a joke and the host feels obligated to laugh.
But I guess there is a place for politeness vs brutal honesty. Sometimes sugar coating so as to not kill someone's courage to keep creating or sometimes simply because you benefit from keep them happy.

Some people, in person to person interaction I think most people, are nice people because they are genuinely nice people. But online, there is a significantly larger proportion that are completely full of s**t. Of course, I could be wrong, I'm clearly biased.
