Light and dark do not merge yet they need each other to be defined. In a way they lose relevance without each other. Some things don’t make sense when one thinks about them. Some people are like that too. Don’t know why they’re there but they are. They complete us in ways we don’t understand. I’m tired so this is the closest I can put my thoughts into words. I really like this poem very much. It’s unusual, beautiful in its reassurance.

Fully understanding our reality is not neccesarry for it to be true. Sometimes we can understand things without being able to articulate them, sometimes we are all just confused but, the truth remains none the less. Paradoxes are inherently like that most of the time. I'm sure I've mentioned the thought experiment called 'Shrodinger's cat' before... it may not really seem like it but that was the basis for this poem. I ended up deviating from it a little bit but I tried to keep the essence of it while applying it to a more tangible message. Though I'm pretty sure I failed at that. Quantum mechanics is hard.

Most of the experiment and it’s interpretations are a bit difficult to wrap my head around. I like the many worlds interpretation though. Makes me think of the limitations of the human eye and perception (the human brain is also very poor at multitasking) ? It’s nice to know that successful experiments with photons have been conducted achieving the cat state for a brief span of time.
Simply thinking, the dead and alive cat can exist at the same time, it definitely has a sub-atomic basis and explanation.

The poet here seems to be making an observation on duality. In the physical universe, all is seen as separate forms: a is a, b is b. The contrast between different forms constitutes the reality we see. We know night from day because we perceive them differently. This situation orients us but makes us sad simultaneously, for there seems to be a desire for oneness. That is our predicament currently. Perhaps evolution is gradually changing things.

What I'm really getting at is one cannot exist without the other but neither can exist at the same time. The lights are either on or they are off... what makes one it's inherent self is that the other has to be different and cannot exist at the same place in the same time (this is really a physics issue at base but not limited to that). Kinda like, you wouldn't know what warmth is without first knowing cold... if everything is always and every time the same you cannot truly appreciate anything. The whole "every body gets a trophy" approach to competition can be looked at that way, 1st place is irrelevant if everyone gets 1st place. Also, if you'd like to apply it to politics, the whole "equality of outcome" concept socialism likes to hinge itself off of has a similar issue and has always been the reason it has ultimately failed every time it was applied, it disincentives' exceptionalism... the old saying "you pretend to pay us and we'll pretend to work" always ends up the norm at the end of the day.
