Cat Water

Cat Water

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"
this hour will bond us tighter

after certainty falls to pieces

in a deep cold all around us

in warm sweaters
under green lights
far after lessons learned

with miles left to go

we hunker
and we contemplate

how just tomorrow will be. . .
"so much better!"
as long as we always can remember
only just yesterday

why certainty fell to pieces

the reasons for the sweaters

why we even remember anything
at all ever, for any reason
at all

Certainty is an illusion. A can of worms I never trust. Reasons are no reasons when everything gets so hackneyed over time. We bleed for tripe, for what’s eventually going to kill us. We bond over the winter, break up for summer and then we learn no lessons. In this we are not very different from cats, are we...?
