we live in a halloween costume all year round

there are moments i know 

in our lives as we live them

 where decisions will be made that affect the rest of it

irrevocably

　

so we sometimes lie

to sound wise

but end up sounding stupid

　

making noise

to be heard

without substance

　

like static

or a child crying

　

behind an intricate mask

very cleverly constructed

so beautifully assembled

　

hiding nothing

like a secret

between a single person

i feel like a lot of people can relate to this. i think about this kind of stuff often, like accidentally saying stupid things or how i try to look a certain way to other people. i like your poetry.
