More Can Be Less

progress doesn't always make cents
value isn't always on paper

and true valor isn't just bluster

sometimes, 

when the right thing rarely is popular

the ego is better refused

and great power lives greater unused

as sometimes,

it all really is as dumb as it seems

and we're not quite sure at all what that means

just that sometimes,

less power is all that you need

You've just portrayed the condition of today's world where everyone is hungry to gain power.that hunger has lead to million of other things.

Thank you. To be honest I don't think there should be a single leader for such a large country, it doesn't make sense logistically or culturally. The whole concept of the presidency was designed during the 1700's for a country that had around or less than a million total people. Everything wasn't just different back then, it was drastically different back then; political ideology, economics, culture, law, leisure time (if you had any), family, logistics, education, technology, etc., etc.. Nothing then was like it is today, why we continue to dismiss even the idea of changing some of the fundamentals of our constitution to more effectively line up with modern day life and it's challenges is something I don't fully understand. It's going to be what destabilizes the US if we don't adapt to reality and just fervently stick to tradition.

You can say that about almost anything. It always depends upon the variables. Some people attain power that they are not competent enough to handle and when that happens the less of it they exercise the better. Are you familiar with the "peter principle"?

It's an idea that states that there is a tendency for people in a hierarchical structure to rise as high as their own level of incompetence and then slowly fall off after that incompetency was identified openly.
