Living Time

it's alive?!

time degrades

and life responds

death approaches

life moves forward

from the darkness

into the light

we reveal this

our own living fire

to each other

upon the fringes

to ourselves 

upon the other

we farm the heart

always forward

the end brings forth

nature's darkness

to our burning desire

how it does terrify

flashbulbs the moment

deep into the memory

a bitter end imagined

oh how it roils the soul

poisons the mind

fouls the very air 

here, we must remember

that this is the human

this all degrades

personally

this thing, this precious

our living time

we share in one thing

indeed

with time, together...

we do degrade

with time, 

  we do this together

  and it is precious...

A very philosophical write that stays cemented to time and matter and suggests (like the bibles Ecclesiastes) how soveriegn vanity may mar them both.
Can't help but feel the structure enhances the downward trajectory of the ethos highlighted, David, and I salute your commitment in that.
