Hunting Panther

Hunting Panther

A Poem by Gregory Stires

Arrow notched in a black string

Sharpened arrowhead

Curved bow

Black as night

String pulled back

Carefully aimed at your

Prey

Your muscles tensed

Like a panther hunting

In the darkness of night

You stealthily wait to strike

Letting the string go

The panther pounces

On your prey

Striking them down

Nice, I like the layers there with the panther = Speaker? Speaker's arrow/bow/bow string? All of them?

Fun!

Pretty excellent minimalist poem. You created a wonderful sense of suspense and some fantastic imagery.
